What’s in store for U.A.E. from Toyota Corolla 2012?

In a dynamic country like UAE, most of us look for economical options in all our purchases, especially when it comes to automobile expenses in the city. Making this reasonable, Toyota, since the past nine years with its economical Corolla model has served this purpose considerably well. Toyota, along with its dealer Al Futtaim Motors, recently launched the 10th generation Corolla for 2012 here in UAE. Longer and wider than the previous model, the all new Corolla 2012 promises comfortable space with better stability. With smooth handling and low-cost-motoring, this compact sedan promises you a comfortable, hassle free ride without being heavy on your wallet.

Powered with a 1.8L DOHC VVT-i petrol engine with 16 valves, mated with a 4-speed electronic or 5-speed manual transmission, Corolla 2012 delivers an impressive160 HP at 6000 RPM. The less powerful but more economical 1.6L petrol engine delivers 107HP at 6000 RPM. With a redesigned chassis, vehicle stability control and traction control this sedan has a strong grip on the tarmac providing a comfortable and stable ride with good handling even at higher speeds.

The exterior styling of Corolla, in terms of lines and curves, follows the design pattern of its elder brother, Toyota Camry. With smooth lines flowing through its curvy body the sedan looks stylish. With a body colored front grille with chrome finishing and new set of fog-lights in black mouldings, Corolla looks sportier than ever. The rear end of the car has received an upliftment with the addition of LED lights in the tail lamps. The rear spoiler has a sporty finish with bright brake lights. Corolla sits on 16” alloy wheels. The sun roof is broader than before. The chrome finished door handles rear parking garnish and colored and chrome side protection mouldings add to the styling.

On the interiors, Corolla is well finished as well. Packed with leather seats, power windows, wireless door locking, floor illumination and power steering Corolla 2012 is quite a package. Cruise control is a good feature to be seen in this segment. Toyota’s attention to detail is impressive, they have intelligently flattened the rear surface flooring to provide added comfort to the rear center passenger.

Corolla 2012 comes with an AM/FM radio, Bluetooth and MP3 compatible 6 CD changer music player connected to 6 speakers. However, the central console which holds all these together is poorly designed, finished in plastic (Wooden finishing can be purchased as an accessory) the layout looks old school. Steering wheel comfortable with smooth maneuvering and is mounted with audio controls.

With dual Glove compartments and bottle holders on all the four doors you have enough space to store all your stuff comfortably. Talking about space, the trunk of Corolla 2012 is now bigger and wider than the previous model to accommodate more luggage.

For the safety of its passengers, Corolla is loaded with driver, front passengers and side and curtain airbags. Anti-lock Braking System helps the car not to skid away.

Overall Corolla 2012 is comfortable, safe and hassle free solution to suit all your driving requirements. In the league of compact sedans, Toyota Corolla is truly strong contender.
