The Flamboyant Ford Taurus 2012 is all-set to take UAE by surprise.

Ford enjoys a high level of respect as a car manufacturer all around the world, especially here in U.A.E.  The futuristic and fluid shaped 2012 line-up of Ford’s vehicles have been the talk of the town for quite some time now and people here in U.A.E. are admiring their new designs and its features.

Ford has been manufacturing vehicles for over a century now and the all new Ford Taurus 2012 is a clear refection of these 100 years of expertise which has enabled Taurus to achieve a new level of automotive excellence.

Ford Taurus not only feels good to drive but is also packed with an extensive list of comfort and safety features which takes this sedan to new heights. One can’t help but admire the splendor of this car…

Ford Taurus 2012 review

Ford Taurus is available in 3 variants here in U.A.E., the basic SE/SEL version, Limited Version and the fully loaded SHO which is the sports version.

From the outside, Taurus is beautifully designed with sharp lines which flow aerodynamically through the length of its body. Chrome finished front grille along with a black colored chin and stern-eye designed HID headlamps gives the Taurus a commanding look from the front. The uniquely designed LED parking light (which has found its place in most of Ford’s 2012 vehicles) makes the sedan look sporty and futuristic

The entire body follows a square shaped theme to give the Taurus a retro feel. The tail end of the sedan looks bold with a sword shaped chrome styling slightly penetrating the tail lamps. Sitting on 19” five-spoke aluminum wheels or optional 20” aluminum, Taurus holds a firm grip on the ground. The dual exhaust with chrome tipped pipes adds to the bold design.

The presence of this sedan cannot be easily overshadowed.

Ford has done a pretty impressive job with the interiors of Taurus. It has loaded the sedan with features which make your driving experience safer and more comfortable.

Ford Taurus 2012 review

The interior designing looks rich and feels luxurious. The central console flows like a wave from the windscreen all the way to the armrest and is powered by SYNC from Microsoft. With the help of SYNC, you can make calls, play music and do lots more without even touching your phone, USB or IPod. All you have to do is hit a button on the steering wheel and say “call Rashid” or “play genre: Rock” and SYNC respectfully follows your commands. This technology is cleverly grouped with a touch screen display and power packed 390-watt Sony Audio System with 12 speakers to bring rich music to your ears. Buttons on the central console are broadly designed and brightly lit in sky blue lighting which makes it comfortable to use.

The interiors liven up with the ice cool ambient lighting; this touch takes the interior up a notch. The dashboard is well finished in wood and the steering wheel feels comfortable with cleverly placed buttons. Paddle shift on steering wheel runs standard on all variants except for the SE/SEL version. Bucket seats provide cooling with massagers for the driver and front passenger. Space is no problem in this sedan.

Apart from these basic features, other features which actually give Taurus the edge over others include:

MyKey: Through this technology, separate keys for additional drivers can be coded to enforce limitation set by you. For instance, mute the audio until seatbelts are properly tucked, set a limit for top speed, have an advanced low fuel warning giving the driver additional time to refuel etc.

SecuriCode: Buttons placed on the drivers door, are almost unseen till you touch them and they come to life. Enter your 5 digit code and the car unlocks without the use of keys.

Advance Cruise Control: This uses radars to monitor traffic at cruising speeds and automatically maintain distance between your Taurus and the vehicle in front of you.

BLIS (Blind Spot Information System): This advanced technology by Ford automatically updates you with cross-traffic alerts, which in simpler words mean you no longer need to turn your head left and right to check on blind spots before you act to change lanes. All you have to do is look for an amber colored light on your side view mirror which indicates there is a vehicle heading towards your intended direction, so you continue driving in your lane until it passes. This system also comes into action when you are reversing out of your parking spot, if it detects a vehicle coming your way; it sounds a warning, alerts you in the message center and flashes a light in your side view mirror.

Easy Fuel: Cap-less fuel filler.

Impressive, isn’t it. However, if you feel the need for more you can customize your Taurus with accessories like head rest DVD by Invision, all weather floor mats, side window deflectors and rear decklid spoiler.

Ford Taurus 2012 review

Ford Taurus is available with two engine options to choose from, a 3.5L Duratec DOHC V6 engine with 6-speed automatic transmission for the SE/SEL and Limited variants and a 3.5L EcoBoost V6 engine mated with a 6-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters for the SHO variant which delivers 365-net-HP. Truly Ford Taurus has enough power to dominate the roads of U.A.E.

With a 4-wheel disc ABS, AdvanceTrac electronic stability control and traction control you will never loose your grip on the road. A sports tuned suspension for the SHO version and tilt/telescoping steering column Taurus handles amazingly well.

So a well engineered powerful engine placed in a beautifully designed retro styled body and loaded with sophisticated features which provide luxury at its best, Ford Taurus 2012 is definitely going to leave its mark in UAE.
