Land Rover LR4, the off-roading legend is here for 2012 in UAE – Car review

A Land Rover is the kind of SUV that can be easily distinguished form the crowed, you identify it even when its far away. The 5.0L LR-V8 gasoline engine with fuel injection system produces staggering torque. Integrated with latest technology and sitting on a Four-Corner Air Suspension system this engine outperforms everything else. The torque activated dual independent variable camshaft phasing system offers swift reaction to throttle inputs. With a 6-speed automatic transmission, LR4 maintains a perfect balance of power  performing efficiently on roads and dominating rocks and other terrains. A 4.0L V6 gasoline engine is also available as an alternative. LR4 promises lower CO2 emissions and higher fuel economy with both engine options.

The specialty of any Land Rover is its features, which take the driver and fellow passengers to a new level of comfort and convenience. The Terrain Response Control which adjusts the suspension and engine outcome of LR4 depending on one of the preset terrains selected, from mud, gravel, sand, snow, rock, tarmac or grass. As rugged from the outside, LR4 is elegant, classy and spacious from the inside. Build in premium materials with superb craftsmanship, the dashboard lies in a horizontal, flat design with 90 degree cuts and angles. The leather and wooden finishing is what makes the entire interiors feel luxurious. The central console bears a simple yet striking design, it includes a TFT touch screen display for audio, navigation and other useful information about the a vehicles performance. Rear parking camera or the 5 camera’s (optional) projecting a 360 degree surrounding is also displayed on the TFT screen. Moreover the controls are easy to use and customizable to have a personal touch. LR4 in-car entertainment comes from Harman/Kardon premium sound system, LOGIC7, the music quality and clarity of from its speakers is exceptional. The steering wheel is is well designed with easy to reach buttons to control audio, cruise control settings hands free calling, etc. it can also be heated in cold weather, which is a ‘not required’ feature in this region. Seats are cozy and crafted in leather and with the option of independent folding seats, you can make room for cargo of any size and shape. Over all the LR4 is brilliantly finished from the inside.

Land Rover’s safety features are respected all over the world, LR4 is packed with eight airbags for safety of all its passengers. Its integrated body frame with monocoque  design helps absorb maximum impact in case of collision. Apart from this LR4 is also loaded with Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Emergency Brake Assist (EBA), Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) and Roll Stability Control (RSC) for reassuring safety.
