Let us pump up the adrenaline with Nissan Patrol Super Safari 2012

Off-roading is one of the most adventurous activities on wheels. Especially living here in UAE, it is difficult to resist the temptation of driving a SUV on the mighty sand dunes. No surprise that this region is filled with off-road fanatics, people who love driving in the desert or those who hit rocky terrains with their SUVs for an adventurous drive. Such craze demands a 4×4 with a tough chassis, a power packed engine with agile maneuvering and the new Nissan Patrol Super Safari has all of these running it its blood for a decade now.

Right from its debut, Nissan Patrol has seized the reputation of a perfect off-roader in UAE. With visual uplifts and new technologies merging with old school styling, Patrol 2012 is a perfect display of “modern meeting traditional”.

Nissan Patrol 2012 has retained its traditional body design which makes this SUV stand out in the crowed. With other car makers going modern with styling, Nissan has taken a bold step by retaining the classical design. They have made the Patrol especially for the people who cherish the old school styling with a true spirit of a 4×4. The bold lines and wide stance of Patrol portrays a heavy presence no matter where it stands.

Newly designed chrome framed grille, Xenon headlamps and front spoiler with built in fog lamps make up for its revamped front look. New wheel arches and integrated side step present a bold and wide appearance. The newly designed tail lamps and spare wheel cover on the classical ‘split opening’ rear door add to Patrol’s rugged styling. Sitting on 17” radial tires with alloy wheels, Patrol has the capability of taking you anywhere you want.

The beautiful, rugged body of Patrol is a perfect wrapping to what it holds under the hood, a prodigious 4800cc, 6-Cylinder 24 valve, in-line gasoline engine which produces a staggering 280HP at 4,800 RPM. Integrated with technologies like VTC (valve timing control) and the new intelligent NICS (Nissan induction control system), this mammoth engine produces boisterous power and torque for an incomparable off-roading experience and fast highway cruising. Patrol’s aggressive throttle response comes from its electronic fuel injection control.

In addition to this engine, Nissan offers Patrol with options like a 4.5L gasoline engine which delivers 220 HP at 4400 RPM and a 4.2L diesel engine which delivers 135 HP at 4000 RPM. So Patrol offers wide engine options ranging from powerful 4.8L gasoline to a fuel economic 4.2L diesel.

All the above engines are mated with a 5-speed automatic transmission with manual mode or a fully manual 5-speed transmission for those who love to exercise full control.
Nissan’s coil spring ‘All-Terrain Suspension’ holds Patrol firmly on any surface, easily overcoming off-roading challenges. It also helps keeping the SUV stable on high speeds when cruising on the highway. The electronic steering wheel provides a swift control on low speeds and a firm grip at high speeds and the ABS (Anti-brake Locking System) keeps you in full control all the time.

The navigation system from Nissan covers major maps of entire Middle East region helping you easily navigate through the roughest deserts. It also provides voices commands in 9 languages including Arabic and English. The steering wheel is mounted with audio and cruise control options for comfortably shifting between music tracks without lifting your hands off the wheel.
