Nissan 370z 2012 is a modernized 70’s Datsun.

All sports car lovers in Dubai are familiar with the famous ‘Z’ series from Nissan. This high rated tuner series had a huge fan following worldwide under the “Datsun” badge and they produced some of the most memorable sports cars like the 240Z back in the 70’s. In recent years, 350Z from Nissan has been a commonly loved set of wheels in UAE but in 2009 it was discontinued to be replaced by the ‘love me or hate me’ 370Z.

Nissan 370Z is stylish sports coupe and is also available as a convertible here in Dubai.  It belongs to the sixth generation of Z series and shrinks in overall dimension but gains in engine power. A specialty of this sports car is that it fairly resembles the Z models from late 60’s and early 70’s. Nissan brings back the sloping roof and puffs out the fenders making 370Z a modern maturation of its ancestors. This is where, I believe, Nissan has nailed it in terms of design.

The front profile of 370Z has got a catfish like appearance due the unique design of the front fangs. Head and tail lamps have the signature L shaped Nissan styling like that seen on Maxima. The hood is dome shaped and curvaceous which complements rest of the curves on the body. The rear profile bears a much simple design with rounded shape and curvy edges. The roadster variant replaces the sloping roof with a soft top making it look much flat on the side profile, the rest of the body maintains the same shape.

On the interiors, 370Z is well designed and mighty cozy. The dashboard is curvy and goes with the exterior of this vehicle.  An LCD colour screen lies on the central console with control buttons from the Infiniti models. As 370Z is a driver focused cabin, three gauges lie on the dashboard providing information on temperature, voltage and clock, these bring in a sporty touch to the cabin. The sports bucket seats are extremely comfortable and hold you in place when you dive into those curves, 370Z’s design allows for a comfortable legroom. Steering wheel is wrapped in leather and mounted with audio and cruise control settings. The cabin space of this vehicle is comfortable and elegant, perfectly designed to suit the sporty personality of 370Z.

Nissan is famous for its technological features, 370Z is no exception. The LCD touch screen on the central console is integrated to a premium sound system from Bose. This acoustic package consists of six speakers and two sub-woofers, together they provide mesmerizing music quality. This entertainment system supports CD/MP3 and provides an AUX jack to connect to external music players. The navigation system on this vehicle is very helpful and easy to sue. Bluetooth system syncs with your phone for hassle free calling on the go. 370Z is also equipped with Nissan Intelligent Key and push button ignition. The list of technological features on Nissan 370Z is endless.

Under the hood of 370Z lies the power packed V6 3.7L VVEL engine with Nissan’s fuel injector system. This well engineered engine provides a staggering 328HP at 7000 RPM by pumping power to the rear wheels. Transmission is a 7-speed automatic with manual shift (paddle shifters) or a 6-speed manual for those to enjoy complete control. Nissan’s innovative SynchroRev technology works amazingly well with the 6-speed manual. The drive of 370Z is agile and powerful, it handles comfortably well on curves. The aggressiveness and harshness of from this engine is makes 370Z a rough rider, some might enjoy it some might not.

For safety 370Z is packed with features like 6 airbags, active headrests and seatbelt pretensioners and stability control as standard equipment on all variants.
