Hyundai Elantra 2012 rocks the compact sedan segment in UAE.

The compact sedan segment, here in Dubai, was dominated by the likes of Japanese giants until 2011. The Civic’s and Corolla’s dominated the streets of UAE and suddenly BANG!! Enter Hyundai with its newly designed and totally refreshed line of vehicles for 2011. A mere year later, Hyundai Elantra 2012 stands as the strongest contender in its class with amazing features, exceptionally good looking exterior and a very fuel efficient 1.6L DOHC under the hood.

As a compact sedan, Elantra has got lots to show but by far its USP (like all Hyundai vehicles) remains its gorgeous exterior design. Hyundai has revolutionized all its vehicles in terms of design, the fluidic sculpture look on Elantra looks awesome. The swooping lines flow throughout the body and are nicely designed. The whole body flows beautifully to the rear end of the car. Wrap-around head and tail lights further add to the styling, especially the tail lights make the rear profile look stunning. Chrome styling on the grille is tastefully done and the sporty design wrapped around the fog lights make for an attractive front profile.

The whole swooping exterior flows into the interiors, the dashboard, door casings, and seats are all filled with nice curves and angles. The beautiful interior design is captivating and Hyundai has raised its standards with the use of materials. Also whats impressive is the amount of space around the car, as a compact sedan Elantra offers comfortable head and legroom on the rear seats even with the front seats pulled back completely. The clever designers at Hyundai have also made room generous storage pockets around the cabin.

Interior features are pretty decent considering the price of the vehicle. The base model comes with a tilt adjusted steering wheel, keyless entry, front and rear power windows, power side mirrors and a Radio CD MP3 player with AUX input. The full options offers rich leather upholstery, intelligent keyless entry with button start, impact sensing door locks, a better audio system, power driver seats, sunroof, rear parking sensors, cruise control and lots more. With the design, interior space and list of features, Elantra 2012 packs an extremely comfortable cabin.

Elantra 2012 comes with a 1.8L DOHC CVVT 4-cylinder engine mated to a 6-speed automatic or manual transmission as standard in Dubai. This engine drives fairly smooth but it’s very impressive with fuel economy. The steering is smooth as well and the response is quick. Elantra sits on 15” steel wheels (base) and 17” alloys are also available (full options). Elantra does compromise on safety by providing only one airbag and ABS on the base model. The top end variant gets six airbags ABS and Stability control.

Hyundai Elantra is a value for money car with exceptionally stylish exterior and interior designs. It incorporates good use of technology and offers generous space for its passengers. It stands as a tough competition to its rivals by providing a dynamic overall package.
