Accord 2012 is available with two engine options in UAE. A 2.4L, 4 cylinder, DOHC i-VTEC engine which produces 178 HP at 6500 RPM. For the more adventurous and pace loving people, a mighty 3.5L, V6, SOHC i-VTEC engine delivering a staggering 271 HP at 6200 RPM is also available. Both these engines are mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. The immediate response of this aggressive engine as you touch the throttle is unbelievable. Despite the power it holds in custody, Accord handles smooth and nimble. Steering response is crisp and thanks to the double-wishbone front and multi-link rear suspension, this sedan keeps you confident and stable at all times.

The exterior design of Accord is almost exactly similar to last year’s model. The only noticeable change lies in the rear profile with the addition of a new set of brake lights for the tail lamp and newly designed chrome grille. Rectangular HID headlamps and sleek fog lamps (available only in EX) with the new grille make up for the sporty front profile. LED turn indicators, 17” alloy wheels and dual chrome finished exhaust pipes add to the styling. Sharp lines and edgy cuts throughout the body projects an aggressive image like that of a charging bull.  Such a design exercises a smooth flow of air keeping the Accord stable and helping it cut swiftly through the air.

The cabin of Honda Accord 2012 feels spacious and welcoming. It withholds cutting edge technologies and provides ample of room to comfortably seat five adults. Dashboard is graceful crafted in wood grain finish (or chrome) with curvy shapes which seamlessly merge on to the central console. Here lies an 8” LCD color display which projects audio information, outside temperature, rear view parking camera etc. An in-built Satellite Navigation system (optional) with preset UAE maps helps you to reach your destination comfortably. Right below the screen lays the bulky entertainment system with huge buttons; the central console would look much more elegant if only this layout was sleek and compact.

However, audio is supported through a 6 speaker premium sound system supporting radio, MP3 playback and a 6 CD changer. The music quality is very impressive and an additional USB and AUX jack is provided to support other audio devices. You can also sync your phone with this system to make hands free calls while driving.

The most impressive feature in Accord 2012 is the i-Dual Zone Automatic Air-conditioner. Through this technology, GPS sensors in the car automatically adjust in-cabin temperature as per the position of the vehicle in relation to the sun. So basically, Accord automatically adjusts the AC, depending on the time and condition.

Seats are comfortable and finished in leather (EX), driver seat is equipped with 8-way power adjusters for optimum comfort. The steering wheel is mounted with audio and cruise control buttons which are easily accessible and run standard on all variants. Accord also offers a power sunroof with tilt, rear AC vent and keyless entry system. The Active Noise Cancellation System (available only on V6) eliminates all sounds from outside providing a complete noise-free cabin. Loaded with such features and extremely spacious cabin, Accord’s interiors are top notch.

When is comes to safety, Honda has always taken special care. Accord 2012 is equipped with front passenger and driver, side curtain and dual chamber side airbags. It also comes with VSA (Vehicle Stability Assistance), ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) with EBD (Electronic Brake-force Distribution) to control the car in low traction conditions and understeering/oversteering situations. The body structure incorporates ACE (Advanced Compatibility Engineering) technology through which frontal collision forces evenly distribute throughout the body, minimizing concentrated impact forces that cause injuries to passengers. In addition to this, active front head restraints automatically adjust position in case of a collision. This technology helps in absorbing impact, avoiding back and head injuries to front passengers.
